Police searching for vehicle in fatal hit-and-run

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Police say one person has died after being struck by a vehicle in west Columbus.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday on Hilliard Rome Road in Galloway.

According to police, 20-year-old Marshall Wirick was walking north on the southbound side of Hilliard Rome Road north of Glenchester Drive when a 2014 Toyota Sienna XLE mini-van struck him.

After striking Wirick, the van continued south out of the area and has not been located.

Wirick was taken to Doctor’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police are now looking for a White Toyota Sienna with damage to front of the van on the right side.

Anyone with information is asked to call Columbus police at 645-4767.

Police originally said they  were searching for a red Chevy Cobalt. That car is no longer believed to be involved.
