Police: 2 shooting victims caught in crossfire

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Two people, including a juvenile were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a shooting on the east side of Columbus.

According to Columbus police, it happened shortly after 9 a.m. near the intersection of East Main Street and Lilley Avenue.

Two people were taken to area hospitals in stable condition, including a juvenile female.

According to investigators on the scene, an argument ended with an exchange of gunfire and they believe the victims were hit by stray bullets.

The victims were both family members.

A vague suspect description was provided to police indicating that a man in a red ball cap was seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting.

Police are now looking at footage from area surveillance cameras for evidence.

No suspect has been apprehended.
