Watkins’ Andrew Jordan among the elite high school runners in the nation

If you run against Andrew Jordan, the starting line may be the only place you see him.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the Watkins Memorial senior ran a 5K race in 14 minutes and 44 seconds, which stands as the second fastest time for an American high school runner this year!

Andrew says he loves the satisfaction he feels when he beats his own personal record and knows he’s getting better with every race.

He also broke the course record at the Galion Invitational. Andrew’s coach, John Jarvis, says that particular race holds significant meaning for him as well. The record Andrew broke was originally set when John ran cross country in high school and that it takes a runner who’s on a completely different level to accomplish the feat.

Andrew’s a star runner for the Warriors, but he’s also a star student. He holds a 4.0 GPA and plans to run for Iowa State next year.
