Tune-in to “Steve Harvey” on Friday, October 16 as a local seven year old entrepreneur, Te’Lario Watkins Jr. from Blacklick, OH tells Steve about his mushroom business, Tiger Mushroom Farms!
“Steve Harvey” can be seen on NBC4 (WCMH), weekdays at 3:00 PM.
At just seven years old, Te’Lario Watkins Jr. from Blacklick, OH is quite the entrepreneur! He started his business, Tiger Mushroom Farms, after enjoying an experiment with his cub scouts group last spring, where they grew cat grass and basil. He realized that he could grow mushrooms at home over the winter because “they can grow in the dark.” He currently grows a variety of mushrooms out of his basement and a spare room at home and sells them at local farmers markets.
Te’Lario brings his business plan to show Steve Harvey, hoping that Steve can give him some business tips because as Te’Lario says, “I want to be rich, just like you!” Steve tells Te’Lario “there’s nothing wrong with being rich, as long as you do the right thing. When you get the money, you have to do the right thing with it.”
Te’Lario will be joined by his parents, Lavanya Watkins and Te’Lario Watkins, who will be seated in the “Steve Harvey” audience. After meeting his parents, Steve Harvey jokes with Te’Lario, “that’s good that your daddy’s here, because I was just about to tell you that I was your daddy!”
