Neighbor helps rescue man after house goes up in flames

WALNUT TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) — A resident of a Pickaway County home was rescued early Friday morning with the help of a neighbor.

According to Harrison Township Fire Captain Chad Noggle, the fire was reported around 1 a.m. on the 2900 block of Pine Drive in Walnut Township.

Firefighters said the home was fully involved in flames when they arrived.

A 66-year-old man was rescued by the other occupants of the home with the help of a neighbor. He was taken to OSU’s Wexner Medical Center to be treated for second-degree burns.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office.

The home is considered a total loss.
