Columbus SWAT takes 1 in custody in connection with Springfield homicide

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus SWAT officers took a person into custody overnight in connection with a Springfield homicide.

According to Columbus police, officers from Columbus and Springfield went to a home on the 1900 block of Defford Court in Columbus looking for a person of interest in the murder of 26-year-old Candance Punty.

Punty was found dead in her home in Springfield on Wednesday.

Homicide investigators from Springfield are now at Columbus police headquarters now questioning the man they took into custody.
