Police identify two men who die after car, bicycle collide

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Two people died when a car struck a bicycle at the intersection of Olentangy River Road and Garrett Drive, according to Columbus police.

Police said 20-year-old Benjamin Meyer was riding his bicycle northbound on Olentangy River Road. A car driven by 38-year-old Clifford Button struck him at a high rate of speed. Button lost control of his car and crashed into a retaining wall, a utility pole, and a tree.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
