Buckeye Gold bandit sought after armed robbery

BEXLEY, Ohio (WCMH) — Investigators are asking for helping finding the Buckeye Gold bandit that took more than $6,000 in jewelry and cash in a late October armed robbery.

Investigators said an unidentifed man walked into the store and attempted to sell a watch to the salesman. As the clerk began to talk with the suspect, the suspect pulled out a silver semi-automatic handgun from his waist and demanded the employee to give him cash in a trash bag from the store. The suspect then told the employee to put gold jewelry from the display case in the bag as well. The suspect also took the victim’s cell phone as he left, heading on foot in an unknown direction.

The man is described as a black male, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs between 175 and 180 pounds. He has tattoos on the right side of his jaw, cheek and neck. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, white baseball cap with black details on the bill, dark blue pants and dark shoes.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477) or go to website at www.stopcrime.org to e-mail a tip.
