Medal of Honor recipient plans memorial

GROVE CITY, Ohio (WCMH) — “Tears were flowing down his cheeks, and the only thing he said to me was ‘dads cry too.’ ” Woody Williams – a World War II veteran and Medal of Honor recipient – recalled a conversation with a grieving father who had lost his son in combat. Williams wanted to do something that would honor the families who have given their loved ones to protect our freedom.

That “something” is a new monument in Grove City. Mindy Drayer sat down with Williams to chat about his plans and the story behind them.
