Prince Harry welcomes wounded veterans to Buckingham Palace

LONDON, England (NBC) – Prince Harry welcomed group of wounded Afghanistan veterans at Buckingham Palace Sunday as they finished a 1,000 mile trek across the United Kingdom for charity.

Six servicemen and women have been walking for 72 days since starting the journey in August.

Prince Harry joined them twice for different sections of the route.

The walk is designed to raise awareness and money for the Walking With the Wounded charity, which supports injured members of the armed forces trying to regain their independence through employment.

Prince Harry posed for pictures with the group after they crossed through the gates at Buckingham Palace.
