COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)– Columbus police say a robbery suspect was asked for identification by officers after being detained, and that’s when he handed over the victim’s driver’s license.
According to the Columbus Division of Police Facebook page, at about 9:11 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the area of Morse Road and Cleveland Avenue on the report of a strong robbery.
The injured victim gave officers a description of the suspect and the direction he ran.
Later, police located the possible suspect, Mohammed Abdullah Ahmed, and asked him for identification. Police said that’s when Ahmed handed over the driver’s license of the victim.
According to police additional property of the victim was also found, and Ahmed was arrested and charged with robbery.
