3 arrested after Union Co. burglary

UNION CO., Ohio (WCMH)– Union County deputies arrested three people Thursday after a reported burglary in progress.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the 1700 block of Kandel Road in Darby Township, on the report of two males kicking in the front door of a neighbor’s residence, and a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Deputies said when they arrived on scene two males ran out the back of the residence, and after a brief foot chase, both suspects were taken into custody. Deputies found the residence ransacked and according to deputies, the suspects had thrown stolen property aside while they were running from the scene.

One of the suspects has been identified as a 14-year-old juvenile and the other has been identified as 37-year-old Rodney L. Milburn of Columbus.

According to deputies, the driver of the suspicious vehicle, 35-year-old Glenda M. Murray, of Columbus, had dropped the two male suspects off in the area before the broke into the residence. She was stopped on state Route 38, south of Rausch Road, and taken into custody shortly after the burglary.

The juvenile suspect has been charged with delinquency counts of burglary and attempted aggravated burglary.

Milburn has been charged with one count of burglary and one count of attempted aggravated burglary, both felonies of the second degree.

Murray has been charged with one count of complicity to burglary and one count of complicity to attempted aggravated burglary, both felonies of the second degree.

Milburn and Murray were arraigned in the Marysville Municipal Court Friday where bond was set at $250,000 for both.

The fourteen year old juvenile appeared in Union County Juvenile Court this morning. The case will be referred to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional charges through the Union County Grand Jury.
