According to incident reports from the sheriff’s office, damage was done to both the Arlington Field of Honor and the Union Grove Cemetery, both located on Winchester Pike in Canal Winchester.
Dozens of gravestones were spray-painted and some statues were broken. A Mausoleum had been spray-painted as well.

Authorities believe the damage was done sometime between afternoon of Nov.10 and the morning of Nov. 11.
Paul Thompson Jr. went to visit his parents’ gravesites at Arlington field of honor on Wednesday.
When he arrived at the cemetery he couldn’t believe what he saw.
“We fight and protect our country and for someone to come in…I know it happens at other cemeteries. But doing it to a veterans cemetery, I just can’t describe it. It hurts real deep,” said Thompson.
Gayle Grimes has been taking care of the grounds at Union Grove Cemetery for more than 30 years.
He said this is the worst type of vandalism that could’ve been done here.
“The fact that they used paint rather than tipping stones over, damaging that way…the paint penetrates the engraving on the granite,” explained Grimes.
