Family loses home, dog, Christmas presents in Licking Co. fire

LICKING CO., Ohio (WCMH)– A Licking County family’s dog died, and their house and Christmas presents were destroyed by a fire Tuesday morning.

Just before 5 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to the 9500 block of Rainrock Road in Eden Township on the report of a fire.

Firefighters said nobody was home at the time, but a dog died in the fire.

According to the homeowner, she was working a late shift, her husband was in Cincinnati taking classes and the three kids were staying with a family down the street. The homeowner says they also lost their Christmas presents and tree in the fire.
