Suspect only gets cigarettes in Circleville robbery after clerk refuses demands

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (WCMH)– Police say a clerk refused the demands of a robbery suspect, despite being threatened by a gun.

According to the Circleville Police Department, officers responded to the Kwik Stop at 320 W. Main Street, Saturday, on a hold up alarm.

The clerk told police that a man with a dark bandanna covering most of his face, entered the store and brandished a handgun. When the suspect ordered the cash register opened, the clerk refused. The suspect then pushed the clerk to the ground, who was then able to trip the panic alarm.

The suspect ran from the store after grabbing  an unknown amount of cartons of cigarettes.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, and was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
