The difference a donation makes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The holiday season is here in central Ohio, and our Firefighters for Kids Toy Drive is this weekend.

Every year, more than 15,000 kids in Central Ohio receive gifts from the toy drive.

The most-needed items are toys for boys and girls aged 8-12, and items for infants–including blankets, pacifiers, and even formula.

We’re collecting new, unwrapped toys, gift cards, and monetary donation now through December 24.  Toy donations can be made at fire stations in Franklin County or any CME Federal Credit Union location during the campaign period.  NBC4 will host the annual collection day on Saturday, December 12, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 3165 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43202.

Families needing assistance can register in person at local agencies. For locations, dates and hours call the Columbus Call Center at 614-645-3111.

The public can make a difference by collecting toys at their schools, neighborhoods and businesses or by volunteering time sorting and bagging toys with the firefighters.  To volunteer please contact
