Mississippi gas station clerk draws weapon over spilled drink

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WJTV) — An aggressive argument in Mississippi is caught on cell phone video, and it has people everywhere reacting to it. “I never really expected something like that to happen,” Carlos Molina said.

The video shows Moshen Galeb, a clearly agitated store clerk losing his cool over a spilled drink. “When I pulled on it, the bottle got stuck. I pulled the six pack, that one bottle fell out and fell on my ankle,” Molina said.

Molina says he might light of the situation and told the clerk he needed to fix the display. That’s when an argument started and soon after, a weapon was drawn.

“I don’t pull my firearm, unless I feel I am in danger and I would never pull it on a patron over something so petty,” Molina said. “I felt it was my responsibility to warn the public about this individual; not the business.”

In the video, you hear Molina telling Gahleb, go ahead and shoot me. Thankfully, it didn’t come to that. “I just was refusing to give in to a bully. I didn’t realize what I was saying at the time. In hindsight, I would have handled it differently.”

That Clerk is now in police custody facing charges of simple assault. His attorney tells us his client wasn’t feeling well, and that he’s extremely apologetic.

He’s a good family man. He’s a United States citizen. He regrets what happened between him and Mr. Molina,” His Lawyer, William Walter said.

Molina says initially, he had trouble getting the video surveillance. Another man who was inside the store told him this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. He then let him know that he captured the entire incident on his phone.

“Overall it’s not a bad business. It’s not about the people who work there. Whether they be Muslims, white, Hispanic or whatever. They’re good people, but the people who were there that night, took it to a level that was beyond extreme,” Molina said.
