30 years with Cabot’s family

(WCMH)–Cabot’s retirement wouldn’t be complete without remembering his family who helped him through the 30 years at NBC4.

Through the years, the Rea kids have popped up here or there on the news. The “Bed by the Window” music video that was shot and produced in 1992 for a special 5:30 live show that highlighted the elderly.

In 1996 when Cabot had the privilege of running the Olympic torch in Grove City, all three children made a cameo.

But like all of us, Cabot has said goodbye to loved ones during his 20 years at NBC4. His brother Phil died in 1998 of cystic fibrosis at the age of 31. His lifelong closest friend Mark Tracey died in a motorcycle accident in 2006, just two hours after they had had lunch.

His brother-in-law and Chopper 4 pilot Robb Case died a year after both of his parents, Jim and Betty, passed in 2010.
