Man charged with murder in connection to June homicide

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A man has been charged with murder nearly six months after a deadly shooting on the northeast side of the city.

Investigators have filed murder charges against 24-year-old Tony L. Macklin in connection to the death of Jaron Valentine.

Columbus police responded to the Hudson Express Carryout at 1818 E. Hudson St. after reports of a shooting the afternoon of June 21. Valentine, the lone victim, was found at the scene with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Macklin, last known address in Hiawatha Park, is not in custody at this time.
