Suspect in 3 different robberies arrested after traffic stop

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)– Columbus police say Robert Polansky is a suspect in three different robberies on the city’s west side.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, the Family Dollar at 3631 Sullivant Avenue, the UDF at 1041 West Broad Street, and the BP at 850 North Wilson Road were all robbed in three separate incidents throughout the night, Tuesday.

Police said clerks at all three businesses were able to provide detailed descriptions of the suspect and his vehicle.

Later in the day, Lt. Barnes with the Columbus Division of Police was in the area of the BP robbery when he recognized the suspected vehicle heading east from I-70 to Wilson Road. Barnes conducted a traffic stop, which resulted in the arrest of 46-year-old Polansky.

According to police, Polansky was positively identified by the victims, and was charged with aggravated robbery.
