Man lying in road killed by hit and run driver in east Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police say a man who was lying in the road died after he was hit by a car in east Columbus.

They say Nathaniel King, 60, was lying in the eastbound lane of Livingston Avenue when Brandon Tyler, 23, hit him around 2:52 a.m. Tyler allegedly fled the scene, and police arrested him later Thursday.

Police say they do not yet know why King was in the roadway. He was taken to Grant Medical Center in life-threatening condition and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
