Schiano joins Ohio State staff, ready to serve

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Greg Schiano interviewed for several head coaching jobs over the past year and half but did not land one. He’s a head coach at heart, but for now he’s doing his best to serve one of his best friends in coaching. Schiano spoke to reporters Thursday for the first time since he accepted the defensive co-coordinator and associate head coaching position at Ohio State. He and Meyer have been friends for many years and while Schiano was the head coach at Rutgers Meyer would visit his program to learn trade secrets. Schiano is not currently coaching at OSU but he is working on recruiting efforts.
