Video shows high school resource officer in confrontation with students

OMAHA, Neb. (WCMH)– A high school resource officer in Nebraska has been temporarily reassigned while Omaha police investigate a video that appears to show him in a confrontation with a student.

The video appeared on social media Thursday and shows a uniformed officer, a person in a security shirt and a group of students in a confrontation in a hallway of Millard Schools.

The video is only 15 seconds long and there’s no information about what led up to the confrontation.

The Omaha Police Department told KMTV they are investigating the incident:

We are in contact with Millard Schools and are in the process of gathering reports from the school as well as the assaults that occurred.  We were just made aware of this situation and the Chief has not seen the video yet. The video showed a 15 second snippet of an apparent large fight but failed to capture the situation in [its] entirety.  We are looking into what precipitated the officer’s actions and if they were appropriate considering the totality of the circumstances.
