Shawnee Hills Police Chief indicted on theft in office charges

DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH)– A Delaware County Grand Jury returned a four-count indictment against the Shawnee Hills Police Chief.

Sean LeFever, 43, has been on paid administrative leave with the department since the investigation began in July.

“The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in July that Chief LeFever had received improper compensation,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “The indictment today outlines four counts of theft in office – all fifth-degree felonies.”

LeFever was appointed chief in April of 2010, and no arraignment date has been set. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
