Police: Woman killed in first homicide of 2016

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman has died in what police are calling the first homicide in Columbus in 2016.

Columbus police said the victim, a woman in her 50s, was found laying in the road near the intersection of Fair Avenue and Napoleon Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the motive remains unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
