Man crashes car into Hilliard quarry after fleeing police

HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH)–Hilliard police released a dash camera video of a chase on Sunday as they tried to pull over a driver who allegedly was staggering around a Kroger and “acting strangely.”

Police said Kroger employees called them about the man, who reportedly left the store in a tan Suzuki SUV. Two officers passed the man on the road and made a U-turn to catch up with him, and police say he then fled.

The offender led officers on a short chase, which ended with his vehicle rolling in the Marble Cliff Quarry at Roberts and Dublin roads.

Adrian Wescott, age 30, was arrested and charged with felony fleeing and felony OVI, as police say this was his fourth offense. He was also arrested on felony warrants.

Officers rescued Wescott from the vehicle with the help of the Columbus Division of Fire.
