LUCASVILLE, Ohio (WCMH)–Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said deputies from his office are currently investigating a double homicide in the Lucasville area.
The bodies of Candace Newsome, age 48, and her 16-year-old daughter Kristina M. Newsome, were found in the home located on 4098 Blue Run Road, Lucasville, on Monday, January 4.
The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a 911 call at approximately 8:33 a.m. from a nearby neighbor/family member who called to report that she had just discovered the two deceased victims inside the residence. Both are listed as having lived there, according to a news release.
Detectives and deputies arrived on the scene and discovered the two female victims inside the trailer of which both victims exhibited obvious signs of trauma as the result of gunshot wounds. Sheriff Donini requested the assistance of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigations in processing the crime scene.
Scioto County Coroner, Dr. Darren Adams, also arrived on the scene and ordered both of the victims to be transported to the Montgomery County Morgue for purposes of performing autopsies on both victims.
