OSU cornerback Eli Apple follows 5 other Buckeyes and turns pro

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)– Ohio State’s 2013 recruiting class continues to look even more impressive.  Redshirt Sophomore cornerback Eli Apple has announced he will enter the NFL Draft.

Apple, who redshirted as a freshman, starred the past two years for OSU. Apple made 53 tackles with three interceptions during his freshman season, followed by 33 tackles and an interception this past year. He was named the defensive MVP of the Fiesta Bowl for his play against Notre Dame.

Apple posted a note of thanks of his Twitter account Monday afternoon.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better college experience…” Apple wrote. “I’d like to thank my teammates for an unforgettable ride. What we accomplished will live forever.”

Apple joins Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott and Darron Lee as members of the 2013 recruiting class who have announced their intentions to turn pro. Fellow OSU players Cardale Jones and Tyvis Powell have also announced their intentions to enter the NFL Draft.
