COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–A Columbus woman pleaded guilty in court to two counts of rape after being accused of helping her boyfriend rape her children.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced the woman’s plea Monday.
She has agreed to testify truthfully at the trial involving her boyfriend and co-defendant, Alberto P. Hernandez. She will have to register as a sex offender for life.
The counts of rape were in connection to sexual assaults committed against her 8- and 14-year-old daughters in 2014 and 2015. Hernandez allegedly raped both girls while the woman was present and participating in the assaults.
Both were indicted for four counts of rape (first-degree felonies) in February.
Hernandez is set for trial Tuesday, O’Brien said. The woman is expected to be sentenced March 31. Both face a potential sentence of life in prison.
