HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD)— The Powerball jackpot has now climbed to a historic $1.4 billion- more than double the previous record for a U.S. lottery jackpot.

No one matched all six of Saturday’s winning numbers. Nationwide, 25 tickets matched five numbers for a $1 million prize.

With the Powerball jackpot the highest it’s ever been, everybody’s looking for an edge in this week’s drawing.

While statistically every ball has an equal chance to hit, 16, 32, and 47 were the most frequent numbers to pop up during recent Powerball drawings, according to Powerball’s website. The white balls representing those three numbers came up five times since Sept. 30,

As for the red Powerball, 10 and 1 were the most commonly drawn balls since Sept. 30.

If you’re looking for numbers that haven’t made their appearance lately, 3, 8, 23 and 24 are your balls. Those numbers haven’t surfaced among the white balls or red Powerball in months.

  • White balls (1-69) that haven’t been drawn: 1, 3, 8, 21, 23, 24, 35, 39 and 51
  • Red balls (1-26) that haven’t been drawn: 3, 8, 12, 14, 16, 23 and 24 and 26

If you are looking to avoid splitting the pot, statisticians have suggested opting for white ball numbers above 31, as many lottery players use birth dates and anniversary dates when they fill out their Powerball ticket request.
