Motive still unknown in Whitehall triple homicide

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) — The deaths of three Whitehall residents remain a mystery for central Ohio investigators, but officials hope your tips can help solve the triple homicide.

On the evening of August 19, 2015, Whitehall police responded to a report of a shooting a an apartment at 4701 Old Way Bay. When officers and entered the building, they discovered the bodies of two residents, Kimberli Alston and Dontai Rheubottom, and one visiting friend, Charles Fischer, who had been shot. Medics pronounced the victims dead at the scene.

Early investigation revealed at least two suspect fled the scene in a vehicle immediately after the shooting. Both suspects are described as black men in their 20s or 30s. Witnesses told police one had a thin build while the other was described as average. Both were wearing dark clothing and one of the suspects may have had braided hair. The vehicle may have been a white Dodge Charger, according to investigators.

Officials said a motive to the murders is currently unknown.
