PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola woman who was caught live-streaming herself smoking synthetic marijuana in the parking lot of a water park has been arrested by authorities.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Sarah Lindsey Lecroy was seen by an employee of Big Kahunas water park smoking and live-streaming herself online. After contacting police, a sheriff’s deputy arrived and found Lecroy standing outside her vehicle with a blunt in one hand and a smartphone in the other.
The deputy said in the police report that she appeared to be documenting herself smoking the controlled substance. The deputy smelled what he identified as synthetic marijuana or “spice.”
Lecroy allegedly informed the deputy she was smoking spice and that it was legal, not knowing the latter to be false. She was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
News 5 contacted the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office to obtain the live-stream video. However, due to it being on the app Periscope, the video no longer exists and wasn’t captured as evidence.
The incident occurred on August 13, 2015. The subsequent arrest came on January 8 after lab tests showed the synthetic marijuana was a controlled substance.
