Coshocton Co. man dies after starting fire while trying to thaw frozen pipes

LINTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH)– Deputies in Coshocton County are investigating an incident where a man died in a fire in Linton Township.

According to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, 911 dispatchers received a call this morning in regards to a mobile home on fire on County Road 106 in Linton Township.

When fire crews arrived on scene, they found the mobile home engulfed in flames. A man was found underneath the home and died as a result of the fire.

Deputies said the man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of family members, was trying to thaw frozen lines underneath the home and became trapped after the fire started.

Deputies continue to investigate the incident.
