Lottery winner killed during home invasion

FITZGERALD, GA. (WCMH)– Craigory Burch Jr. won nearly $500,000 in a lottery in November, but on Thursday, police said he was killed during a home invasion.

According to WALB, Burch, 20, was a forklift operator when he won $434,272 in the Fantasy 5 jackpot last November. According to police, he died from gunshot wounds at a home in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Friends of Burch told WALB he had used some of his winnings to buy Christmas presents for people in need.
