Police search for east side assault suspect

COLUMBUS (WCMH) —  Columbus police are searching for two men who shot 36-year-old Jermaine Saunders in the 1800 block of Kent Street just after 2:00 a.m. Sunday.

Saunders told police that he was with another person at the Tiger Mart in the 200 block of East Livingston Avenue when the two got into a verbal altercation with two men inside the business.

Saunders said the suspects followed him to his home on Kent St. then shot him. Saunders was taken to an area hospital, and is expected to recover.

The suspects were driving a white vehicle, and police were only able to give a vague description of the two men.
