Crime Stoppers looking for two men who allegedly got into student housing by saying they were exterminators

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is looking for two suspects in a burglary that took place on the Ohio State University’s campus in December.

Crime Stoppers said in a release that two men burglarized the Torres House at 187 W. Lane Ave. on Dec. 4. Around 5:17 p.m., they allegedly got in by telling a student they were exterminators and they needed to spray for bugs. The building requires keycard access.

Monday Release 2-1-16 1Once inside and on the 8th floor, the suspects had a student leave his room while they (supposedly) sprayed.

Instead, the suspects stole the student’s laptop and iPad tablet.

Both suspects are described as black males between 20-30 and well-groomed.

The first suspect has a dark complexion, short afro hair, a mustache, wire-framed glasses, wearing a light colored long-sleeved button up shirt with a “US Bank” logo on the front left chest area, dark pants and brown dress shoes.

Monday Release 2-1-16 3The second suspect has lighter complexion, light beard, mustache and goatee, muscular build, wearing a long-sleeved gray pullover shirt, black pants, gray and white tennis shoes, orange safety vest, carrying a black backpack and a white insect sprayer canister.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477) or go to www.stopcrime.org and e-mail your tip.
