CINCINNATI, Ohio (WCMH)–Cincinnati police helped get a young boy into safety after they found him walking around alone.

Officer Jamie Landrum found the 3-year-old boy wandering the streets at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Landrum bought the child a coat, pants, shoes, and fresh diapers, according to a sergeant with the department. Later on, Officer Will Nastold laid down on the floor to try to help the boy take a nap.

Police told WLWT the boy’s mother came to pick up her son three hours later at the police station and admitted she’d been drinking the night before, according to investigators. She was arrested for child endangerment. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
