OSHP seize $95k worth of marijuana during traffic stop

A man from Oregon was arrested after troopers said $95 thousand worth of marijuana was found in his vehicle.

SANDUSKY CO., OH (WCMH)– Troopers in northern Ohio confiscated 21 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 11:40 am, January 27, troopers in Sandusky County stopped at 2006 Volkswagen Passat with Oregon registration for slow speed and unsafe lane change on the Ohio Turnpike.

Troopers said after interacting with the driver, they saw raw marijuana in plain view in the center console.

During a probable cause search, 21 pounds of marijuana worth approximately $95,130 was found in the vehicle trunk, according to troopers.

Russell F. Hines, 20, of Ashland, Oregon, was arrested and charged with third degree possession and trafficking marijuana.
