Puppy rescued from abandoned shaft

(KGET) Firefighters rescued a puppy out of a shaft in an abandoned building in Lamont, California.

The four month old pup named Valentine is in the care of Kern County Animal Services after getting trapped in a vault of an old packing facility.

Animal Services Director Nick Cullen said, “There was like a basement that had a shaft to it and he was way at the bottom of the shaft and he had no way of getting out.”

A woman reported this morning hearing whimpering coming from the building.

Crews responded and found this face peering from the deep hole. Getting him out was another story.
