Woman shot in chest in near east side neighborhood

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Police say a woman was hospitalized early Friday morning after being shot in the chest east of downtown.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 3:25am Friday, officers arrived on the scene in the 1600 block of Harvard Avenue of a reported shooting when a person yelled at them from a vacant yard next door.

The person told police he was with the victim of a shooting, and she needed medical help.

Angelica M. Lee, 26, was taken to Grant Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her upper chest and is listed in stable condition.

The resident told police he heard two gunshots, but did not see anyone when he came outside and found the Lee.

Police ask anyone with information on this shooting to call Detective Rosch at 614-645-4373 or Crime Stoppers at 614-645-4881.
