Columbus man indicted for murder out of 2010 incident

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–Columbus Police say they have formally charged a man in connection with a 2010 incident that lead to another man’s death.

On April 29, 2010, officers responded to 666 East Hudson Street on the report of a fight. Four individuals were transported to local hospitals.

Some of the injured parties sustained knife wounds. Rex Cherry and Larry Mabry sustained blunt force trauma injuries.

Cherry died as a result of his injuries on May 7, 2010.

On February 17, 2016, the case was presented to the Franklin County Grand Jury. It is believed Larry Mabry and Rex Cherry were the aggressors in the fight, police say. Larry Mabry was indicted on the above charges, holding him accountable for Rex Cherry’s death due to his actions.

He was charged with murder, two counts of felonious assault, and attempted murder.
