Police arrest man on robbery charge after brief SWAT standoff

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH)–Police have arrested a Columbus man accused of robbing a motel in Whitehall early Thursday morning.

Whitehall Police say they arrived at the Casa Villa Motel on Main Street on a report of a robbery around 1:18 a.m. A couple told police they had been robbed by two black males armed with handguns. The suspects allegedly took money and personal property from the victims.

Police say they identified Ronald L. Davis, of East Fulton Street in Columbus and went to his home to arrest him. He allegedly refused to come out, and SWAT officers were called in. Davis eventually came out of the residence on his own and was taken into custody.
