COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a corporal with the office was struck by a vehicle at around 2:30 Sunday morning in the area of Overbrook Service Drive and Eisenhower Road.
The corporal got out of his car during the pursuit, and the suspect vehicle struck him then drove away, according to authorities.
The corporal was taken to Grant Medical Center with minor injuries, and has since been released.
“We’re lucky he wasn’t killed,” Sheriff Zach Scott said.
A passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody, but officials said that person of interest is being cooperative.
Deputies are looking for 24-year-old Lamonte Rayshawn Fowler, who is expected to be charged with felonious assault in this case. He is described as 6 feet and and weighing 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
