Area Special Olympic teams compete in basketball tournament

COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Teams from Franklin and surrounding counties competed in the Special Olympics area basketball tournament last weekend.

The games are a warm-up for the sectional tournament at Eastmoor Academy the weekend of February 27.

It’s really cool. The athletes work just as hard as any high school team. They’re actually trying to make it to this year’s state tournament at the end of March,” said Sherri Andrus, Special Olympics coordinator.
