Arson suspect arrested after fire at west Columbus bank

COLUMBUS (WCMH)– A 21-year-old man from Franklinton was arrested and accused of arson at a PNC bank.

According to the Columbus Division of Fire, at about 12:45am, February 19, firefighters were called to the PNC bank at 1435 West Broad Street on the report of a fire.

When crews arrived on scene, they found the exterior of the bank, including the ATM on fire.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire, and investigators responded to the scene.

Investigators said video from the ATM showed a person lighting the ATM on fire, and arrested James T. Lowe, after a search warrant was obtained to identify the last person to use the machine.
