WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — A Winter Haven woman is being held without bond in the Polk County Jail after the decomposing body of her boyfriend was found in their home.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Star Tribble, 35, on Wednesday on charges of giving a false statement in a capital felony investigation and accessory after the fact of a capital felony.

Investigators say the body of Tomorreio Clark, 33, was found on Tuesday by Tribble’s adult daughter at the couple’s home on Imperial Drive. Clark was Tribble’s boyfriend of 15 years. The couple has two children.

Detectives say they responded to the home and found Clark’s decomposing body lying face down on a mattress on the floor. Gunshot wounds were observed at the top of his head and at the bottom of his chin. There were no signs of forced entry at the home and no gun was found, according to an arrest affidavit.

Detectives say Tribble told them that she last saw Clark on Thursday, Feb. 18. He was in a “laid back” mood and had set out chicken wings to grill. She also said that Clark had told her to take their two boys and “stay gone” for a few days.

Tribble told detectives that she, the boys and her adult daughter Damecia stayed away from the home until Monday, when Damecia went to the home and called Tribble saying there was an emergency there. Damecia also called 911.

Detectives later found out that Tribble and her brother, Kenneth Stacey, had actually gone to Tribble’s home on Sunday.

According to the arrest affidavit, after the pair arrived at the home, Tribble asked Stacey to look in the master bedroom. He looked and saw Clark on the mattress under a blanket. Tribble told Stacey that Clark was dead and she didn’t know what happened to him. Kenneth asked Tribble why she didn’t call an ambulance or the police and she said they would have asked too many questions. Tribble asked Kenneth to help her get rid of Clark’s body, but he refused and wanted to leave, so they left.

Detectives later interviewed Tribble. They say she told them she had gone back to her home to get scrubs for work on Sunday and asked Stacey to accompany her.  She also allegedly admitted that she knew Clark was dead when she went back to her residence on Sunday night.

Detectives say Tribble denied killing Clark, but also told them he was shot in the head, which is information that detectives did not tell her, according to the arrest affidavit.
