COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–The Franklin County Commissioners say the director of the county dog shelter has resigned.
Kaye Dickson, who is also director of Franklin County Animal Care and Control, resigns effective March 8.
The commissioners oversee the shelter. They say that Dickson will be returning to Arizona to consider a run for political office, according to a letter she wrote them.
She was hired in February of 2015.
County Administrator Kenneth Wilson said that the county will decide soon on the search procedure for a new director for the agency and shelter.
In 2015, the shelter posted record numbers of adoptions for 7 consecutive months, as well as record numbers of adoptions per day, and for the year.
