Several news outlets reported she had a stroke, while others say she has “flu-like symptoms.”

Ono, who was married to singer-songwriter John Lennon from 1969 until his death in 1980, turned 83 earlier this month.

Lennon was shot and killed outside their Dakota apartment on Dec. 8, 1980. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
