Man indicted on seven counts for allegedly kidnapping, raping woman in Chase Bank building

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–A man has been indicted on one count of kidnapping and six counts of rape after he allegedly raped a woman inside the downtown Chase Bank tower on Feb. 19.

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced Monday that the Franklin County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Billy Dee Anderson, 31.

While in the bank, Anderson expressed an interest in renting a safe-deposit box, police have said. He was escorted by the victim to a remote part of the bank, and allegedly held her against her will and raped her.

Anderson had recently been released from prison after serving a 3-1/2 year sentence from a 2012 conviction for abduction and attempted robbery.

O’Brien said Anderson faces in excess of 50 years in prison if he is indicted.

Arraignment for Anderson will be set for Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street.
