Police: Man injured after shooting in east Columbus alley

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A 24-year-old man is recovering after he was shot in an east Columbus alley on Sunday.

Columbus police and medics responded to the area near Taylor Avenue and Mount Vernon Avenue around 8:44 pm Sunday. The victim told police he was in an alley when a black man shot him once in his lower body.

The victim was found at a nearby residence, where he waited for medical attention. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Police said the incident is still under investigation and did not release any other description of the suspect. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call the Columbus Police Assault Unit at 614-645-4141.
